Gentlewaves: Cosmetic LED Skin Repair

Upload: August 22, 2014

Gentlewaves is the first andonly LED device to receive FDA approval for a medical claim associated with cosmetic improvement of aging and sun-damaged skin. It improves the skin without relying on high energy sources or skin damage. Gentlewaves treatment slows down the breakdown of collagen while stimulating new production. In addition, this device helps reduce wrinkles, speeds healing of scars, and diminishes pore size and hyperpigmentation. Overall, it gives the patient smoother, more youthful looking skin without pain, redness, or side effects.

How does Gentlewaves work?

Gentlewaves is the only device that uses photomodulation technology. Energy from low intensity, light-emitting diodes (LED’s) is delivered at proprietary fluences and pulse algorithms, specifically matched to the cellular processes that enhance skin rejuvenation.

Why Gentlewaves?

Current skin rejuvenation therapies operate via damaging the skin to induce a wound healing response. This can be done via photothermolysis, heating the tissue, or using chemicals to damage the tissue and cause it to peel. However, this device works at the cellular level to help create new collagen while slowing the production of enzymes that breakdown and age the skin. It is able to rejuvenate the skin surface without damage and downtime.

Yes, Gentlewaves can be administered alone or in conjunction with other treatments. It is also a great treatment for post-surgical patients, such as those who have had a recent blepharoplasty or facelift, to speed the healing process and enhance results.
